TL;DR: We take privacy very seriously. We collect minimal information (username, workout totals, and optional hydration/pee counts) to run the leaderboard and push notifications. We never track your activity across other apps or share your data with advertisers.
1. Information We Collect
Pee-ups collects data in two main categories to provide and customize our fitness challenges:
- Account Information: When you sign up, you provide a unique username, an email address (used to recover your passcode/PIN if forgotten), and a passcode (PIN). Your passcode is securely hashed and encrypted before being saved.
- Fitness & Hydration Metrics: We store your logged sets, daily/lifetime rep totals for selected exercises, and count of daily pee trips (hydration events) in order to calculate your hydration score and render progress charts.
- Device Identifiers (Push Notification Tokens): If you consent to receive push notifications, we generate a secure Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) / Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) token to deliver reminder alerts, crown changes, and leaderboard updates.
2. Optional Health & Fitness Integrations
If you choose to purchase Pee-ups Premium, you can optionally link the app to third-party health suites:
- Apple HealthKit (iOS) / Health Connect (Android): When enabled, Pee-ups can automatically write your completed workout sets and water intake details directly into your device's native health store, and optionally sync past workout history.
Strict Policy: We only access your device's health store with your explicit permission. We never upload your raw HealthKit or Health Connect database back to our servers; all data read from your health store stays locally on your device.
3. How We Use Your Information
We process your data strictly to perform the following core features:
- To track your stats and render lifetime growth and progress charts.
- To display your username and daily totals on the local and global leaderboards.
- To send you push alerts when followed friends log events or pass you in rankings.
- To manage and verify active subscription states via RevenueCat.
4. Data Sharing & Disclosure
We do not share, sell, or rent your personal data to advertisers, brokers, or third parties. Your data is only shared in the following scenarios:
- Social Leaderboards: Your username and daily/lifetime workout metrics are visible to other logged-in users on the challenge leaderboard.
- Service Providers: We use Google Firebase (FCM) to route notifications and RevenueCat to validate in-app purchases. These services are only provided the minimum anonymous tokens needed to execute their functions.
5. Security & Retention
We store your account metrics in a secure cloud database (Google Cloud SQL) using industry-standard SSL encryption. Your credentials are protected with salted hashing. We retain your information as long as your account remains active. You can request account deletion at any time by contacting support.
